Okay, so I love that I am a professional musician, but I don't like some of the rules of my organization. We have to ask our leaders if we can perform somewhere before we are allowed to, which makes some since, but we aren't allowed to perform with an ensemble if the other members aren't in my organization and we would get paid for it. I don't get this! Why not!
My brother has thus far resisted joining the Musicians Union in Nashville. He has enough of a name that he hasn't needed them in order to get work.
He says the control they try to exhibit over people by far outweighs the benefits.
I would too. If I'm gonna make music I'm gonna do it on my terms. And that means no Autotune unless it's to make fun of people who overuse it. LOL.
Eww autotune sucks. Its for fake singers who can't really sing. And don't get me wrong, I am a proud AFM member, just getting used to the union life. I am proud to stand with 90000 other quality professional musicians and live music.
I have a feeling real music is going and has gone he wa of plain Englis. To the grave.
